We're made up of local business, professional, and civic leaders.
We meet regularly, get to know one another, form friendships, and through that, we get things done in this community.

A "ROTARY Clock" for El Cajon
At our board meeting held on January 17, 2017, our board voted to begin fundraising for a "Rotary Clock". The purpose is to provide a gift from our club to the City of El Cajon that will remind our citizens every day of the good work Rotary does for our community.
Our next "Thirsty Thursday" will take place at 5:30pm on Thursday, February 2nd, at The Junction Steakhouse restaurant on Jamacha in El Cajon. Everyone is welcome!
"Come Thirsty my Friends"

Today's Speaker
Dr. Phil Pryde did a wonderful job today in providing the club with a great deal of information about the history of Russia, Ukraine, and the Soviet Union. this is an area of the world that is receiving much focus at this time and will likely be a big part of the news in the future given the desire of Russia to extend it's influence in the area.
Factoid...
Dr. Pryde shared with us an interesting fact. Little did we know that the big bad USSR/Soviet Union has been invaded many times over the years by several countries. Among them - Sweden, Lithuania, Romania, Serbia and others.
Thank You's
The club would like to thank
Bob for the Pledge today, Doug for the 4-way test, Bobbi for our song, and Sean for the wonderful prayer!
Announcements
Alison Cummings - Alison wanted to congratulate Debra Emerson and St. Mad's for a hugely successful Tea by the Sea event this past Saturday at the Marine Room in La Jolla. SOLD OUT once again and everyone had a blast.
Shirley Simmons- Shirley is raising money for the kids in Alpine by supporting her daughter, Rhonda, to be elected Alpine's "Honorary Mayor". Please bring in your contributions to Shirley at "Thirsty Thursday" or at our meeting next week.
Ginger Poutous - Ginger shared with everyone that our dictionary's have been ordered, but are missing. More to come....
Max Wright - For some reason, Max wanted everyone to know that he spilled his lunch all over the floor today, and it may be the reason we are never allowed back to use the round tables again. I think I would have just kept that to myself, but I'm not the sharing person that Max is. Thanks for sharing Max:)
Susan Ferrara - GREAT NEWS! Susan announced that we will be supporting one another vocationally by having one of our members talk about their business each month. GREAT IDEA Susan! Nothing like helping one another succeed in our businesses. Without them, many of us wouldn't be able to participate in Rotary to the extent we do.
Cheryl Minshew - RYLA is coming up on April 7-9. WE NEED FACILITATORS!
And the winning ticket goes to...
Shirley Simmons
Shirley has the winning number and strolls to the table knoing that she has a one in two chance of winning the big jackpot of $336
And...Noooooooo. She pulled out the wrong marble.
And The Winning Ticket Goes To....
Shirley was the lucky winner of the drawing this week...
There were only TWO marbles left and the black one is still in the bag! It's such a shame as we all know that if Shirley had one, all of the money would have immediately gone to her daughter Rhonda to help the kids of Alpine.
The current jackpot is over $300 and that will surely increase next week with ONLY THE BLACK MARBLE LEFT. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET LUCKY!
Welcome
Welcome to the El Cajon Rotary Club!
