What happened at our El Cajon Rotary Club meeting on Tuesday, February 27th, 2018?
If you weren't able to make it to our meeting this past Tuesday, you missed one of the most interesting speakers we have enjoyed in a long time. Roger and Margaret Hueppchen invited Dr. Benjamin Aaron to speak on Tuesday, and he was awesome!
On March 30, 1981, Dr. Aaron was Chief of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery at George Washington University Hospital in Washington D.C. It just so happened that on that day, John Hinckley Jr. decided to attempt to assassinate President Ronald Reagan. Dr Aaron saved President Reagan's life that day. He told us his incredible story on Tuesday.
Here are two links you will want to read with much more information about his very incredible story:

Granite Hills INTERACT Club Installs Lending Libraries
Our club has been working with the Granite Hills Interact Club for a few years now and the club is doing some great things. Our clmb Member, Jamie Lundy acts as our club's laison to the Interact Club at Granite Hills and stays very involved with them.
Recently, the Interact club worked alongside a couple of our club members to build and install 2 lending libraries at the East County Transitional Living Center. Stu Scott offered his woodworking skills to the job and the students decorated the libraries. Then, last week, the students along with Jamie, Stu, and club member, Harold Brown, installed the libraries at the East County Transitional Living Center for everyone to enjoy. WAY TO GO!
