For 72 years, the Rotary Club of El Cajon has been a beacon of hope, providing vital grants to non-profit organizations that uplift the El Cajon community. On September 16, 2025, the club proudly issued 22 grants to deserving organizations, showcasing the incredible breadth of Rotary's Areas of Focus. These grants are made possible through the unwavering generosity of its members and the El Cajon Rotary Foundation.
El Cajon is a vibrant and diverse community, with a myriad of services needed to help it thrive. Our dedicated club members not only roll up their sleeves for hands-on service projects, but they also listen intently to the community, identifying service gaps and addressing them through our grant program. By supporting the non-profits that best serve these needs, we ensure that no one is left behind.
Our grant program also extends a helping hand to military organizations that support veterans in various capacities. This includes the Warrior Foundation's Operation Zipper Boot, which provides modified combat boots with built-in zippers for prosthetic limbs, and Workshops for Warriors, a transformative program that rebuilds American manufacturing one veteran at a time through hands-on training and nationally recognized certifications in CNC machining and welding.
The Rotary Club of El Cajon is also committed to making a global impact. This year, we are proud to support the La Mision Children's Fund, a non-profit run entirely by volunteers dedicated to alleviating poverty and providing essential resources to children and adolescents in Baja California, Mexico. Our grant will ensure that high school students receive a nutritious breakfast. Additionally, we are participating in a joint District Grant with the Rotary Club of El Cajon Sunset to establish the MITI Training Center in Kenya, which will teach innovative farming strategies and agricultural training in Kenya, Africa.
